Marié Digby Autographed Album

Marié Digby Autographed Album

Hi. I’m Esmé, and I’m suffering from a Class S MDD. In other words, I’m a Digbyholic.
Tuesday was AW-MAZING. Just to be able to see Marié perform live was enough. What’s more was the she held my hand when she was singing – my left hand is now called the Marié Digby hand.
I was pretty lucky this time because I was able to stand RIGHT INFRONT of the stage – just close enough to be tempted enough to steal that hairpin on the Stage Floor-*SHOT** Heeheee. My Best Friend (AKA My ‘Secretary’) and I were simply ecstatic to see Marié Digby, it just felt unreal – I still felt like I was in a dream. Watching Marié live was just…amazing! I still can’t get over the fact that Miss AWESOME Digby shook my hand when she sang ‘Avalanche’! Ahhhh!!
The show lasted and hour and forty-five minutes with a special encore, where Marié played ‘Say it Again’ and ‘Umbrella’. Another random factoid was that Marié did this awesome head turn where all her hair would fly up like those girls in the Pantene Ad. I’ve been doing it all day long-*SHOT* Hehee.
Soon after, it was time for the Autograph session…and man…I was SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICESPIALIDOCIOUS-LY EXCITED – so much that I accidentally broke my first copy of Breathing Underwater ): Being the Digbyholic I was, I ran (Correction: Running is an understatement. I FLEW there – and that wasn’t fast enough!) all the way to the entrance just to get another copy! I was really really really happy since I got 2 copies plus a poster signed in the end! Which leads me to a very very exciting part of the show – meeting Marié.

Ohhmyyygosh. Just standing there made my heart thump…You know…like those times when you’re soooo nervous that you can hear your heart thumping even with the crowd… My best friend Beverley had to calm me down with the most drastic of bribes – to not talk to me for the rest of my life. And guess what? It still didn’t work.
The person before me was a Japanese businessman who gave Marié his namecard, and right after…was ME!
“Hello Marié” Those were my first words.
“I think you know me from Twitter – my user name is DruidEsme”
“Druid…Esme…? Ohhhmygosh!! I’ve totally seen you before! I was tweeting backstage before the show!”
Beverley just had to cut in, introducing herself as my Secretary.
Marié laughed.
That wasn’t it! Being the Digbyholic I was, I just had to tell her who I was!
“Oh!! And I’m one of the Digbyholics!”
Those were my exact words.
To be able to have heard about how special the Digbyholics are to the one and only Marié Digby…was…amazing. It made me proud to be one – to even be able to help out with the Digbyholics…
“Come here! You deserve a hug!”
Marié replies with excitement!
“Are you a Digbyholic too?” Marié asks my friend.
“I’m going to!!”
“Close enough! You get a hug too!”
That was the sweetest thing anyone could do.
Wow. The power of 2 simple gestures.
I got to take pictures with Marié Digby too!

All in all, it was an amazing show to have been there and I’d totally go again! (Gosh…I already feel like flying to the Philippines to see Marié again!!)
Oh! And one more thing – I have LOST my voice from singing EVERY track Marié played-*SHOT* But seriously…It was worth it:)

Marié just had an interview on The Big Meal with CJ & Suzy on Magic 89.9 in Manila. They discussed a wide variety of topics including what Marié had for lunch, the Pantene ProVoice competition and even some discussion about Marié’s sisters, Erina and Naomi. Check it out!

A snapshot of Marie Digby

“One impatient girl” is how Marie (pronounced Mar-ee-AY), 26, is described by those close to her. As a toddler, she started taking piano and guitar lessons and, inspired by her favorite artists (Martin Sexton, Beth Orton and Poe among them), started writing songs. She didn’t stop there.

Marie Digby invades Manila Aug. 1

“Making it in music was impossible but I didn’t care what it took,” she was quoted as saying as she recalled how she was rejected when she applied for a part in school musicals and plays.

Marie Digby keeps challenging herself

Asked to give an advice for budding entertainers finding it hard to go out and promote their music, Marie suggested two things. “Play live. You have to perform in front of a crowd. Second, make use of the internet.”

Marié appeared on Primetime Morning in Singapore to do an interview to kick off her Breathing Underwater tour. In the interview she reminisces about her tour last year;

“I was here one year ago with my last album and Singapore was the beginning of my touring and it’s the same thing this time,” said the 26-year-old. “It’s totally déjà vu. Even when I arrived here at the studio, I was like, ‘Oh my gosh,’ I feel like I was just here.”

discusses the inspirations of her new album;

“I was falling for someone during the making of the [second] album and falling out of love, not knowing if he felt the same, and then falling back into love. It was this emotional rollercoaster…” Digby said rather embarrassedly.

So it’s no surprise that the singer, a self-confessed “total hopeless romantic”, channelled all that emotion into her music. Her second album, titled “Breathing Underwater”, which was recorded over a two-and-a-half month period last year, is about the “trials and tribulations of love”.

and even performs an acoustic rendition of her single ‘Avalanche’!
