1. Imogen Heap – “2/1″ – Ellipse
• Imogen’s newest album “Ellipse” is truly a masterpiece and this is my favorite song from the album. She is one of the artists I would buy a CD from without even previewing.

2. Jay-Z – “D.O.A. (Death Of Autotune)” – The Blueprint 3
• Everything Jay-Z seems to touch is fresh. This track is just super smart

3. Zero 7 – “Destiny” – Simple Things
• I discovered the lovely Sia from this track where she is the guest vocalist. One of the most romantic songs of Sin Nombre all time in my opinion

4. Aaliyah – “We Need A Resolution” – Aaliyah
• She was so mysterious, unique and talented. I loved everything that Aaliyah stood for

5. Marcelo Zarvos – “Sin Nombre” – Sin Nombre
• Great movie and even better soundtrack!

6. Portishead – “Roads” – Dummy
• If there’s one artist that changed my life, it’s Portishead. I was 13 when I first heard them and have been mesmerized ever since.

7. Phoenix – “Fences” – Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix
• Just did a TV show next door to Phoenix while in Japan. I wanted to tell them I’ve been a huge fan for years but missed my chance!

8. Nine Inch Nails – “Piggy” – The Downward Spiral
• The Downward Spiral was one of the most important albums in my teenage years. I still love this song.

9. POE – “Dolphin” – Hello
• I think Poe is quite underestimated and fantastic. I love that she leaves all the imperfections in her voice on the track; that to me is perfect.

10. Beyonce – “Sweet Dreams” – I am…Sasha Fierce (Deluxe Edition)
• Just saw Beyonce in concert and was blown away. I went from a fan to a full blown Beyonce worshipper!

11. Eminem – “Beautiful” – Relapse
• As controversial as Eminem can be, very few can argue how talented he is

12. Andrew Bird – “Anonanimal” – Noble Beast
• Brilliant songwriter/musician/artist. My little sister introduced me.

13. Jimi Hendrix – “Angel” – Experience Hendrix: The Best of Jimi Hendrix
• I have probably listened to this song thousands of times and it never gets old

14. Amerie – “Why R U” – In Love & War
• This song perfectly, word for word, captures what I’m feeling right now

15. Deftones – “Around the Fur” – Around the Fur
• One of my favorite rock bands and rock songs of all time

16. Madonna – “Love Profusion” – American Life
• It’s hard to pick just one Madonna song but this is one of her lesser known and one of my favorites

17. Sia – “Breathe Me” – Colour the Small One
• Stumbled upon this track and fell in love with Sia.

18. Nina Simone – “Feeling Good” – I Put a Spell on You
• One of the best vocals of all time in my opinion. No one matches the raw emotion of Nina Simone!

I remember messaging her a couple times about doing a cover of “Beautiful” by Eminem, but thinking about it again, maybe his lyrics were just a lil’ bit too rough haha. But I’m glad to see she likes the song because it truly is an amazing song–very real and personal. I had this song on repeat when I first heard it lol. She’s right when she says “very few can argue how talented he is” because not everyone knows Em past the “silly” rap songs he puts out as singles like “My Name Is,” “Just Lose It,” and most recently “We Made You.” He really is one of the most talented rappers out there. I don’t think anyone knows an artist’s true potential until they listen to the songs on the rest of the album–not just the catchy songs gettin’ radio play. In my case with Marié, I really liked “Say It Again” when I first saw a live acoustic version of it when she just started sharing it, but I don’t think I reaaally started lovin’ her music until I heard “Miss Invisible” and “Unfold” on the album. They’re sad songs and not super-catchy, but they showed that this girl could sing her heart out, that’s for sure. Yeah, I don’t know why this comment is this long, but I just saw somethin’ and my mind kept runnin’ lol. So, yeahh..um…Marié is awesome :)

That’s so fuuny because Breathe Me is my favorite song from Sia and the song that made me listen to her. And I found out about Nina Simone because of a comercial. Oh and i have a personal recomandation from Portishead- Glory Box (it’s a sad one but it’s really beautiful) and from Imogen Heap I like Speeding cars and Headlock.
But my favorite one is Marie’ of course :)
