Marie’s YouTube: Support The Generation Project!
Hey Guys! Just a quick post to ask you guys to support Marie’s good friend Jessica and her charity ‘The Generation Project’. You guys will remember Jessica from the San Diego after-show interview we did in December. The Generation Project is currently in a Facebook contest to win $1 Million and we need your help to get them to the top!
Here is a brief description of what The Generation Project is all about.
The Generation Project provides donors at all income levels the opportunity to design and fund completely personalized gifts that benefit low-income K-12 students.
The types of gifts that can be given through The Generation Project--like those that wealthy philanthropists give through their personal foundations--are limited only by donors’ imaginations. For example:
- A young lawyer might sponsor an inner-city debate team
- A military veteran might sponsor an essay contest on freedom
- A cancer survivor might sponsor a hospital internship for students interested in medicine
- A former high school swimmer might sponsor a high school swim team, or collaborate with former teammates to sponsor a full-fledged league
- An artist might donate high-end art suppliesThe Generation Project is geared towards education because the range of formative experiences available to students in low-income communities is inexcusably narrow. The Generation Project allows donors to design and fund personalized gifts for high-need K-12 students and provides teachers and students easy, online access to these opportunities through an online, interactive platform.
