We’re still in April right? Phew, we’re not THAT late. LOL

Keshia attended Marie’s show last night at UCSD and she was bearing gifts! As part of the birthday project this year we had some big plans. With the help of Meredith (Thanks sooo much Meredith!) we surprised Marie with a brand new mic on her birthday. The second gift was a scrapbook of letters from Digbyholics from around the world. With a lot of hard work from Jaymie, collecting the letters and designing the scrapbook we finally got everything together in time for Keshia to present it to Marie at her show last night in San Diego! Here is a video that Keshia and Kevin took when they showed Marie the gifts! Great job everyone, this is going to be hard to top next year!

Hey there Digbyholics!

It’s story telling time! So what’s Life like as a Digbyholic? Well from my point of view, I’ve had some experiences here and there that I’d like to share with you folks.  Here we GO!

By this time in University final exam time was again just around the corner.  Everyone’s busy cramming in every single crevice of the library that I usually study at.  This forces me to go study in another building, one that I’ve never studied in yet.  I find a nice spot in this other building.  A nice open, space with a huge table I can use all to myself.  I sit down and try to get my ‘study face’ on.  I have the tendency to listen to music when I’m studying so I set up my laptop and plug in my earphones.  After a few hours or so, I decided to take a break from studying, look up Marie Digby videos and I pull up her “That Should Be Me” cover on Youtube.  In the middle of this, a punk looking, built guy, give or take over 6 feet tall… walks up behind me and says something to me.  I couldn’t hear him so I took out my earphone and asked him to repeat himself.  Our conversation went a little something like this.

Guy: Is that Marie Digby? [Whispering]

Nicole: Yes? [a little weirded out]

Guy: Man I love her! Is that a new cover?!  I don’t remember seeing that one!!

Nicole:  Kind of?

{By this time, I was laughing on the inside.  Is this guy serious?  Another Marie Digby fan?!  Sweet!}

Guy: Can I listen too?

Nicole: Sure?

{Scared that he’d do something if I didn’t let him 0_0 Keep in mind this guy was a very big guy…}

He sits down, takes an earphone out of my hand, and listens to Marie do her thing. He began to bob his head and hum along quietly.  When the song ended he gives me back my ear piece and says…

Guy: Hah! She actually made Justin Bieber look okay for once…  Thanks for letting me listen. Didn’t think I’d find other Marie fans around here.  Name’s (insert name here) by the way.

Nicole: Nicole.

Guy: You should hit me up here when her next cover comes out though. I really liked that one.

Nicole: Haha…… ha. Kay?

Guy: Well I gotta run. Peace.

I guess I’ll leave it at that for now.  We all know how Marie becomes a part of our lives and how MDD has the tendency to spread. Whether if we’re young or old, or whether we’re scary built guys or not

Marié is getting some more TV love! Her song “Come Find Me” from her sophomore album “Breathing Underwater” was recently featured on “What Chilli Wants” on VH1. Congratulations Marié!

Marié will be continuing her touring on Wednesday in San Diego where she will be playing at The Loft in UCSD. Tickets are sold out to this show. Marié has told us that she will probably be playing some shows as part of the Lilith Fair festival which showcases great female performers on a tour around US and Canada. We will update you guys when we get more information!

Hey Digbyholics! Today is a day of celebration for us! This day last year we were celebrating Marié’s 26th birthday with the grand opening of Digbyholics.com. Today we are not only celebrating the great year we’ve had as Digbyholics; an album release, numerous concerts, many new friends made and Digbyholics meet-ups across the globe, we are also celebrating the great year that is to come. Hey Digbyholics! For those of you who can’t make it out to the show at Schuba’s in Chicago, IL you have a second chance to see Marié perform! Marié will be at the UNITY Charity Fashion Show at the Norris University Center in Northwestern University on April 24th at 7:30pm. Admission is $5 at the door. This Fashion show is put on by several student associations from the university and the proceeds will be donated to two charities that improve the lives of disadvantaged children in the United States and around the world! Marié will be performing 3-5 songs and will hold a meet and greet session afterwards as well.

Hope you guys can make it out to support Marié while also donating to a good cause!
