I Know More ‘Digby’ Than You Do

Greetings fellow Digbyholics!

How’s everyone been doing lately?  So how many of you guys have been told by someone that whenever they talk to you, they can always expect you to bring up something Marie Digby related right off the bat?  Haha. (I know I have) :P   From friends to co-workers to even family members.  In this case, this story revolves around my little brother.

My brother and I were sitting across each other at the kitchen table one night.  Everyone else had eaten already and it was just us two left.  I guess you can say he and I are pretty tight and we have the tendency to share pretty much anything and everything.  Stuff we couldn’t tell anyone really… including our parents.  This very night tells me that my high school PreCalculus (who now teaches his class PreCalc) mentioned and asked about me in front of his class that morning.

Nicole: Really? Uh oh…What’d she say?  Did she complain about me not coming to visit in during the last two years or something? (which I said I would do when I graduated, but still hasn’t happened)

Bro: No… we were having a regular PreCalc lecture and she randomly brought up the topic of Grade Point Average.

Nicole: Okay? And that had to do with me because…

Bro: She was asking me what your’s was now that you’re in University. How would I know…?

Nicole: Oh geez… then what did you say?!

Bro: Well she asked the whole class if they knew what a GPA was and that I should be able to tell her what your GPA is.

Nicole: And?…

Bro: I told her you and I don’t talk about that.

Nicole: Okay? Then what happened?

Bro: She was like… ‘Haha. Then what DO you guys talk about? Do you two even talk?!”… then the class started to laugh…

Nicole: Haha. And you were embarrassed?

Bro: Naw. I just told her that we don’t talk about school.

Nicole: Oh okay. True enough…

Bro: So she asked me what we DO talk about.

Nicole: … and what did you say?

Bro: Marie Digby.

Nicole: HAHA! Are you serious?! What did she say?

Bro: Hah. Well the whole class stopped laughing and she was like… who’s that?

Nicole: What did you say?

Bro: Nothing. Haha I left her hanging. I just continued writing notes…

See what I mean, guys? You know you’re a Digbyholic when even your younger siblings know more about Marie Digby than they do about you. Haha.

We all know how Marie becomes a part of our lives and how MDD has the tendency to spread.  Whether if we’re young or old, or whether we’re interested in GPAs or not ;)

I’m back once again with another Digbyholic talent!  She is known as deareishen on YouTube.  She has 3 Marié Digby covers of “Spell,” “Stupid For You,” and “Miss Invisible.”  If you want to check those out be sure to show her some love and visit her channel by clicking here.

Anywho, enjoy her cover as she puts a spell over you with her angelic voice!  (Okay, that was cheesy. lol.)

QUESTION:  Where are my guys at?  I’m sure there are some of you guys out there who can pull off a Marié Digby song.  ;)

Receipts are used for … really?

Hey Guys!

Nicole’s back! Sorry for the delay.  School, exams… you know how it is. ;)  I’m here again to share another one of my random stories.  This one happened about a week ago… so quite recent.

I was on the bus coming home from school.  I usually take the bus up to the mall and I got there a bit earlier than expected so I decided to walk around.  As I was doing so, I ran into an old friend who I haven’t seen since my high school graduation at the food court.   She was sitting with 3 other people at the time.

Friend: Nicole! How you doing?! I haven’t seen you in forever!

Nicole: Oh my! (Insert friend’s name here)!! … I know right? Ages… I’m not too bad how about you?

Friend: I’m goooood…

(As we continue catching up, about 20 minutes in. There was a sudden change in topic: Music)

Friend: … Yeah I got that CD.  Not as good as I thought it would be though. What about you? What do you listen to lately?

Nicole: A lot of things really… oh and Marie Digby!!

Friend: Maw-yay? What? Haha. Who’s that?

Nicole: Haha!! MAH-REE-YAY! Digby… not Maw-yay, Silly! Greeeat artist… You should listen to her when you get the chance!  Look her up on youtube sometime!

Friend: Sure hold on, let me write that down.

(Desperate for paper and a pen, she fumbles through her purse.  Eventually giving up she dug into a bag of stuff that she had bought several minutes ago, pulls out a purchase receipt, and tells me to write MD’s name down)

Friend: Nicole, write her name down on here. Haha. I have no paper sorry….

Nicole: Oh it’s cool! I can write it on your forehead if you’d like as well! Haha. Kidding! Kay here…

Friend: (after I wrote down Marie’s name) Oh, write it three more times. Just underneath it.

Nicole: Huh? Here? (Points at the receipt) Whaa…? Okay?

Friend: Yeah right there. (…) K Cool!

She takes the receipt in her hands and rips the four ‘Marie Digby’s I wrote… as my eyes widen.  In my head (what in the world is this girl doing?! You tell me to write it and you did that just to rip it up?!). She smiles at me while putting one in her purse and distributing the other three to her friends (who I’ve never met in my life) telling them to check it out too.

Nicole: (Silent sigh of relief)

Friend: Thanks. I’ll check her out when I get home!

Nicole: Alright! Well my ride’s almost here.  So nice seeing you again!!

Friend: You too, dear! Bye!

Later that night I get a Facebook message. From ….. yep! HER ;) And this is the very message she sent me that day:

“Oh my F-(*cough*)-ing gosh Nicole!!! This girl is cuuuhrazy good!!! Me and the others saw her channel last night..Do you know if she has CDs out? TELL ME WHERE! NOW!!!!!! Now now now now now!!!! (If u don’t want me to hunt u down for it ;) hihih jk jk) K bye :D

Haha.  From this experience, I’ve come to realize that there’s an infinite number of ways to spread MDD.  Who knew the use of receipts was one of them?  (because I didn’t :P )  I wonder what other things we can do/use.  Any ideas anyone? If you do, comment! I’d love to know what other things we can use! ;)

We all know how Marie becomes a part of our lives and how MDD has the tendency to spread. J Whether if we’re young or old, or whether we’re hardcore shoppers or not ;)

Update!

There has been a lot of questions about the Lilith tour so we forwarded your question to someone from the label. Here are the answers!

So as far as I can tell from the press release she will be doing some video updates from the tour like interviewing artists and fans.
Will these be available on ABC.com or her YouTube channel? or somewhere else maybe?
Yes, these interviews and backstage recordings / updates will all be posted to www.abcmusiclounge.com daily!

I assume the ABC tent will be inside the premises so that you will need to buy a full ticket.
Correct and YES, you need a ticket to get in to the grounds. A Cheap ticket will get you in if you don’t care about seating at the other stages.

Does it need to be a special ticket to gain access? Is there a separate ticket that you need to buy to get a seat?
All the same ticket.

Will these performances be happening at a regular schedule, how do we find out when Marié will be performing?
We are still working on this.

Will there be meet & greets after the performances?
She will be in the tent most of the day, so she will meet and greet anyone that comes by!

Also, it looks like she may performing on the Second Stage at a couple of these shows.
I will keep you posted!! :)

Thanks for the support!
